Hi Alison, apologies that I'm so tough to reach on email. I'm on service without a fellow so I'll try to stay on as long I can. Thanks for helping to put this together - such a needed topic.
Alison Williams

I didn't speak to my provider, but made the decision to receive the vaccine on my own.
Emily Foley

I didn’t speak to my PCP because I don’t know her that well and don’t have the full trust but I do have certain physicians that I have stayed in contact with and trust completely and I based my decision to get it off the trust I have in Dr. Ebony Carter!
Jami Kiesling

@Judy - same, I received the vaccine without talking to my provider

The political involvement has been a huge barrier. How do you address the people who don't want to get it simply because they don't want to do something they are being told they "have to do"? Those that don't want "government" interfering...
Dr. Traci Johnson
58:51
HEY!!! I just saw your message! Thanks for the kind words!! Muah!

Is there any information out there about how long that passive immunity lasts on babies?
Chelsey Roberts
01:31:50
Are you guys encouraging elective induction of labor for those pregnant people who had mild covid in early pregnancy that have since recovered? Or are you still comfortable with expectant management/IOL at 40?
Dr. Florio
01:32:23
We are not recommending any early intervention unless something else devevlops
Dr. Florio
01:33:09
Philip - can you post the link for some literature for that? Very interesting
Jennifer Crowell

I have had several patients experience amenorrhea following their vaccine. This has caused them many concerns regarding thier fertility. I have also had patients that have an IUD with very light or no periods at all, start to bleed very heavy following their vaccine. Have you heard of this and how do you reassure women who are concerned?
Dr. Florio
01:37:15
Jennifer - yes, there are current ongoing studies on menstrual changes for women who received the vaccine. This is now a known side effect and you are right, it is disturbing for women
Dr. Maulik
01:38:18
I have friends who experienced this. I believe the Yale REI department wrote a compelling New York Times piece that prompted the NIH to reevaluate how little we know about menstruation in general.

So sorry I'm in and out with patient care. Saw this in the chat - Some data shows neonatal passive immunity to COVID lasting 6 months - unclear if this is a protective level or just a detectable level.
